Midtown Project

The Midtown Neighborhood is in the heart of Temple and is one of the community’s original developments. Because of this long history, the neighborhood contains some of Temple’s most iconic landmarks.

The Midtown Neighborhood is one of 18 planning districts within the City of Temple. Each district plan has a similar planning process that is intended to complement the City’s Comprehensive Plan with a more focused effort at the neighborhood level. This plan looks at the existing conditions and engages residents to derive genuine information and direction from the neighborhood.

While using the best practices for planning, the results of each plan define specific recommendations that are unique to each district.

As the Midtown Neighborhood area was being planned, it was developed with the community and its residents in mind. The community was encouraged to observe the current conditions of the neighborhood and share what it is they truly want for their neighborhood. Many citizens shared that their main concerns are safety, housing, and street beautification.

Although The Midtown Neighborhood is already proven to be home to so many Temple citizens, revitalization will offer every resident the opportunity to enjoy what the neighborhood has to offer.

Whether it be a choice of work, play or stay, The Midtown Neighborhood provides what the citizens need and will continue to display what the city represents, togetherness and love.
